Be Cautious of “Make Money Online Schemes”

by Admin on May 6, 2010

Everyone is always looking for the easiest way to make money online. No one likes spending 20 hours a day doing work if they could work for four hours per day and make the same amount of money. However, there are so many programs, books, ebooks, reports, and gimmicks out there that you have to be careful not to get sucked into buying something that is going to cost you a lot more money than you are going to make.

There are so many gurus online that promise that you will make $10,000 per month working for one hour a week, or some other crazy promise like that. Do not get suckered into the hype. For them to get where they are (if they aren’t lying to you) is a lot of work, money, and time. There really is no easy way to do to make money, especially online. You have to be willing to put some time and effort and actually learn about what you want to do.

If you are interested in making money online, there are some basic rules and things you should be aware of before you buy a product or service that will claim to make you money online.

I can not tell you how many products, ebooks, and services I have bought that have cost me more money to buy than I have ever got out of them. Luckily not all products are bad, but you just need to be cautious before you drop $100-$1,000 on a product you know nothing about.

First, you must know the person selling you the product. Before you buy a product, get on their mailing list and watch a couple emails come through your inbox. Are they giving you good information and advice? Or, are they trying to sell you something every other line? I am weary of someone who doesn’t send out quality emails, it’s just like the sales copy on the site. If they do not have enough solid information that they can give some away for free, they probably aren’t worth your money.

Be careful buying products off of forums as well. There are many legitimate authors and product creators, but don’t be the first person to jump in and buy. Wait for some reviews from other forum members and test the waters that way. Private messaging or emailing the seller is a good idea as well, get to know them and how they work. It may be a great fit for you, or they may want you to do something you aren’t comfortable with or into when it comes to marketing.

When it is all said and done, don’t be afraid to buy products and services to make your life easier, but do your homework, get to know the person and the product they are offering, and do not waste all your startup cash on ebooks or other make money products.
